"Eco-basement" exhibition

This Saturday (8th of December) is the day when the Semiotics Research Centre is organizing a unique one-day exhibition-competition. It's uniqueness lies in the fact that the event will take place in the cellar of an apartment complex.

The main aim of the exhibition is to become closer to the people. It is plain for everyone to see, that the only people visiting art exhibitions in Vilnius are those who are extremely interested in art. The doors of art galleries have become hard to reach for many people, either because they have no time, lack interest or simpy because they had never gotten into the habit. „Meno duobė“ and the Semiotics Research Center believe that an exhibition can be organized anywhere, even in a cellar of an apartment building. The only thing to keep in mind is that the ideas, expressed in the art reach its target audience.

More than 10 artists have agreed to participate in this environmentally-oriented exhibition. Here, they will interact with other participants, as well as introduce artworks made from recycled or reused materials.
