Eco-workshop and an AGAT Eco-Creativity Award In Rome

Within the Eco-Creativity project, Associazione Geografica per l’Ambiente e il Territorio from Italy, has decided to organize multiple activities related to the creation of art to promote and enhance the link between art, creativity, and the environment.

The first activity organized on May 26th was a workshop entitled: “Eco-creative Practices for the Dissemination of the Knowledge on Environmental Problems”. The purpose of the workshop was to give an overview of the role of “eco-creative practices” in spreading environmental awareness.

"Sustainable Design: trash Art" workshop in Vilnius

Semiotics research center at 18th of May organized a lecture about stable design and garbage art - "Sustainable Design: trash Art". The main purpose of it was to get some new news and conception about ecological art from a specialist: our lecturer Dalia Karatajienė came from Vilnius Design College.

The participants of the workshop were from various professional sections: law, accountancy, architecture, business, education, and, surely, ecology. The fact that the main part of the participants was not professional in ecology means that they got news about sustainable consumption and now can use it in their daily life.

Eco-workshop in Panevezys attracted media attention

Semiotic research center organized eco-workshop in Panevezys attracted media attention.

To the workshop came Lithuanian television reporters. They prepared reportage witch was shown on Lithuania national channel. You can find a record of reportage there - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYwFfkpZ9WQ .

Besides short news on the radio, a few articles about the event have been published. One was published in  Panevežys newspaper “Sekundė”, another one of the biggest Lithuanian news portal – alfa.lt . According to the tv report National television of Lithuania published the article in English on the website – www.lrt.lt.

 
Eco-workshops in Panevėžys: How is ecology born through creativity?

February 23rd 17.30. Semiotic research center organized eco-workshops in Panevezys Youth school’s premises, during which the attendants learned how to create unique gifts and home interiors – teddy bears – using an old skirt or a shirt. Workshops were aimed to reduce consumerism and to pay the public’s attention to the fact that in order to give close people something special you do not have to look for new things in the supermarket.

Conference "The geography in the new millennium"

AGAT carries out dissemination activities of the ECO-CREATIVITY project through meetings, workshops and conferences. On Friday December 16th was held the conference "The geography in the new millennium" organized and managed by the association. The place was the Great Hall of Geography  inside Sapienza University in Piazzale Aldo Moro, 5, Rome. AGAT utilized the event also in order to spread the interest in the Ecocreativity project.

The event was made possible thanks also to the contribution of Sapienza - University of Rome under the Funding for cultural and social needs of students and in collaboration with the AIIG (Italian Association of Geography Teachers).
